Painted Allianz Riviera seats raised over €90,000
Twenty-two seats of the Allianz Riviera stadium, transformed into works of art, were sold at auction on 23 September and brought in more than €90,000 . All proceeds went to four associations that help those affected by the 14 July 2016
Fragonard hails from Grasse: painting sold for €10.6m
Jean-Honoré Fragonard’s painting “L’Instant désiré” (also known as “The Happy Lovers”) was hammered down at Christie’s in Paris on 23 September 2026 for €10.6m. The pre-sale estimate was around €3m. The artist himself was from Grasse, and the house where he lived still stands in the town.
