Muana Establishes Specialized Brigade to Combat Mosquitoes

In Muana on the French Riviera, the municipality presented a set of measures to combat mosquitoes, including the creation of a brigade of four agents, biological treatment of stormwater, and installation of housing for bats.

Specialised Brigade Against Mosquitoes

The municipality of Muana has formed a brigade of four agents who have received training from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and EID Mediterranean. The brigade visits private homes free of charge for diagnostics and identification of mosquito breeding areas.

Natural Methods of Combat

As part of the fight against mosquitoes in Muana, houses are set up for bats and nest boxes for tits, which naturally help control the insect population.

Biological Treatment of Stormwater

From June to September, the municipality carries out biological treatment of stormwater to prevent mosquito breeding. New mosquito control devices have also been installed in nurseries.

Subsidies for Residents

The municipality offers subsidies of up to 30% for the purchase of environmentally friendly mosquito control products, with a maximum amount of 300 euros. Free packages of natural larvicide are also distributed.
