Strike at Lignes d'Azur: Possible Disruptions to Transport in Nice on July 15, 2026
Two unions at Lignes d’Azur have announced a strike on July 15, 2026, which may lead to disruptions in the operation of trams and buses in Nice and the metropolis.
Preparing for the Strike
Two unions - Sud-Solidaires and CFTC-Unsa, representing about a third of Lignes d’Azur’s employees, have notified of the strike. The reason was the prolonged negotiations on annual mandatory agreements (NAO).
Union Demands
The unions are not satisfied with the management’s proposal: a 1.5% salary increase and a one-time bonus of 400 euros. “We expect the management to reconsider its position,” said Stefan Champussen, a representative of Sud-Solidaires.
Position of Other Organizations
The largest union, CGT, did not support the strike, calling the actions of colleagues “sudden” against the backdrop of ongoing negotiations. The new president of Lignes d’Azur, Bertrand Gazille, expressed hope for the continuation of dialogue: “I took over the company on May 18 and inherited this situation. We are discussing options.”
Next Steps
The final decision on the scale of the strike will be known on the evening of July 11, when employees are expected to announce their participation in the action.
