Monaco Card Show will return to the Grimaldi Forum on 12 September
On 12 September at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco the second Monaco Card Show will take place — an exhibition of collectible cards that has doubled in size over the year to more than 1,200 square metres and has gathered around 60 participants.
Second exhibition: more space, more exhibitors
The first Monaco Card Show took place on 13 September 2025 and was the first event of its kind in the south of France — at the time around fifty exhibitors gathered, reports Monaco Tribune. The organisers — childhood friends Dominique Gastaldi, owner of three flower shops in Monaco, and Nicolas Bermon, who works in communications and helps the NBA develop distribution in Europe, — decided to expand the format. According to Monaco Life, the exhibition space doubled and exceeded 1,200 square metres across two venues, and the number of exhibitors grew to almost sixty.
Card market: records worth millions of dollars
Collectible cards have long ceased to be a child’s hobby — the market has shown explosive growth that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. “This surge of enthusiasm for cards happened during the epidemic… there was a real boom,” one of the organisers, Nicolas Bermon, said in an interview with Monaco Hebdo.
Record sales in recent months confirm the scale of the market: in August 2025 a card autographed by Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant sold at Heritage Auctions for $12.9 million — a record among sports cards. And in February 2026 the Pikachu Illustrator card owned by blogger Logan Paul was sold at Goldin for $16.49 million, becoming the most expensive collectible card in history.
What will be on display at the stands
The main partner of the exhibition — VOGGT, a platform for collectible cards that joined the Fanatics group in 2024: its expert “breakers” open boxes of cards live at the stand. In addition, booths will feature Panini, Pokémon, Marvel, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and other pop-culture items, and for families with children a separate kids’ zone will open for the first time this year.
Growing interest in the format
The organisers note that already after the first exhibition many exhibitors wanted to return, and interest in collecting cards as both a hobby and an investment continues to grow.
