Lignes d’Azur strike 17 August: timetable changes

On 17 August 2026, Nice’s public transport will again switch to Sunday service: the SUD union continues a series of summer strikes at Lignes d’Azur.

Which lines will switch to Sunday timetables

Tram lines 1, 2, 3 and B, as well as bus routes 5, 6, 7, 8+, 11, 12+, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 (only on the Vauban — Saint-André-de-la-Roche section), 20, 21, 30, 32, 33, 35, 38, 57, 64, 70, 81, 98 and 99 will operate to Sunday and public holiday timetables. The first journey of line 15 from the Lycée Masséna stop will remain at the usual time — 6:30.

What is fully cancelled

Routes 36, 37 and Cadam Est will not run that day. The Mobil’Azur call centre and the TAD (transport on request) service will not be operating, while agencies and Parcazur car parks will continue to accept visitors as usual.

Why they are striking

The strike is organised by the SUD Régie Lignes d’Azur union — employees are demanding pay rises and improved working conditions, including air conditioning in cabs during the summer heat. According to union representative Stefan Shampussen, workers are “not being heard”: taking into account protests already held in July and on 14 August, the demand is supported by more than 350 drivers — over half of the staff.

Where to follow the timetable

Up-to-date information for 17 August is published on the Lignes d’Azur website, and details are examined by Nice Premium. This is already the third wave of strikes across the network this summer — you can read about the previous action on 15 July separately.
