A Splash Party for teenagers will be held in Monaco on 12 September
On Saturday, 12 September, the Rainier III aquatic stadium in Monaco will be closed to regular visitors and given over for the day to teenagers: the principality’s town hall is holding a Splash Party there for 12–17-year-olds. Starts at 14:00.
A party devised by the pupils themselves
The Splash Party grew out of Projet Communal Junior — a programme under which Monegasque schoolchildren propose their own ideas for city events to the town hall. The pool party was originally conceived by pupils of the collège, and has been held regularly ever since; this year it has been scheduled for mid-September, when the school year has just begun and the sea is still warm.
All day on 12 September the stadium will be closed to the general public — the venue is entirely handed over to the event participants. The organisers promise enhanced security and qualified lifeguards on duty by the water.
What will be at the venue
The programme, as described by Monaco Town Hall, is “swimming, of course, but also a musical atmosphere with a DJ, activities and a non-alcoholic open bar, an inflatable structure, giant rings and balls”. In addition to that — what the stadium already offers even without the event: a heated Olympic pool with seawater, a 45-metre slide and springboards.
Who it’s for and how much it costs
Entry is open only to schoolchildren and residents of the principality aged 12 to 17 (starting from class 6ème). For them a ticket costs €20, and this price already includes unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. Chaperones not from Monaco pay €25 and may enter only together with a pupil or resident.
Documents will be checked at the entrance: an identity document or a school diary is mandatory, and the organisers expressly reserve the right to refuse entry. You can register and clarify details at the town hall — the phone number is listed on the event page; Monaco Life also writes about the event’s programme.
If swimming in the pool does not appeal, there is the sea nearby: Mala beach in neighbouring Cap-d’Ail is open until the end of the season. And for those who have already sent their children back to school, a reminder about the ARS back-to-school allowance, payments for which began on 18 August.
